On a natural arena encompassing 17 acres, within firing range of the original battle ground, 500 volunteers, including 400 actors and 40 horseback riders, re-enact the Battle of Castillon.
The 90 captivating minutes, filled with stunts, special effects and explosive expertise are combined with the everyday life of the Middle Ages, rural scenes set in a farm, scenes from the grape harvest, shooting parties and market day with street sellers and a travelling dentist!

Major attraction in Aquitaine, the Battle of Castillon has the support of Aquitaine General Council and of Gironde General Council through their programs "Aquitaine en scène" and "Scènes d'Été en Gironde".
Well grounded, the association Castillon 1453 is alsosupported by the municipalities of Castilon, Belvès, several municipality communauties and a number of sponsors.
In order to ensure the quality of the professionnal standard of such a show, the Association Castillon 1453 and all the volunteers have wanted to call in experts.
Thus, the script, the music, the staging, the lighting plan, horse performances, pyrotechnics, medieval fighting, choreography, communication, photos and video have been entrusted to proven talents.
Activities : medieval fightings are proposed several times an evening, theatrical scenes will be performed for you and animals participating to the show are presented in a farm.
Games : children can to take part in all kind of old or traditionnal games
Ancient crafts : a dozen artisans show you old crafts and trades of the past.
Wine tasting : the winegrowers of Côtes de Castillon are happy to share a glass with you.
Catering : stalls offer you sandwiches, french fries, ice creams and refreshments from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm and Alienor inn greets 900 guests for the dinner each evening.
