Eric Le Collen est l'auteur et compositeur du spectacle de la Bataille de Castillon.
Il supervise la mise en scène, qu'il modifie chaque année.
Mais c'est avant tout un artiste éclectique. Conseiller artistique pour la création de la Cité du Vin à Bordeaux, créateur du festival "Philosophia" à Saint-Emilion, il a imaginé les cérémonies de lancement de l'Hermione Lafayette à Rochefort.
"From 1966 to 2005, I taught European Modern History (15th-19th centuries) at the Michel Montaigne Bordeaux University where I spent my entire career as an assistant, lecturer and professor and, from 1994 to 1999, as its President.
The several decades of teaching and research allowed me to meet many students.
I wrote my PhD thesis on “The Dordogne River throughout Modern History”. This was the time when the Dordogne served as a commercial axis to transport goods and men from the Massif Central to Libourne and Bordeaux, before the maritime relay of boats and ships to Northern Europe and particularly to Great Britain.
My PhD thesis led to the writing in 2021 of my book titled "About A River and Its Riparians, the Dordogne People”.
The limit of the tides on the Dordogne is located in Castillon, so that it is not a simple coincidence that the final confrontation of the Hundred Years War happened here…"
